As an author selling his books online and creating additional books to sell, I need to have a lot of faith. I've been fortunate with the amount of books I've sold thus far and how many I continue to sell each month. With that income, I've been able to pay down some debt, move into a bigger apartment and I've been afforded more leisure time.
On days when my sales dip, I get concerned that this will be the end of the road and t hat I'll need to get a job if the trend continues. On those days, I try to have faith that it's all going to work out. If my sales dip, hopefully one of the new books I'm working on can make up for it. If it doesn't, hopefully my web traffic and Google AdSense will compensate. If that doesn't work, I just need to keep working hard and believing that a higher power has my back.
Today, I wrote some prompts on parents and family for the book along with a post on my main man, Earl Nightingale.
This blog is a daily reflection on my attempts to write 2,500 words a day for an entire year straight. There will be tips, there will be tricks, there may be a little bit of whining, but I'll try to keep it to a minimum :).

Day 25: When I'm Rich
When I'm rich, I'm going to hire a full-time editor to work on my stuff so that I never have to proofread during my day for an instant. I have to admit that writing such a hefty amount per day while proofreading what I've already written has been difficult to fit in.
When I'm rich, I'll hire cleaners, packers and movers, so that the moving process isn't as time consuming as it's been so far this month. Fortunately, we're only moving a few blocks away, so at least the amount of driving I'll have to do in our rental truck will be minimal.
When I'm rich, I'm going to be even more generous with my time to my family and friends and all the people who have been incredibly supportive of me during my crazy creative lifestyle.
Kept on shaking my tail feather today through the character writing prompts, while I wrote another motivation techniques post on the blog on tricking your brain not to procrastinate.

Day 24: How Far I've Come
A few years ago, I was worried that I wouldn't amount to much. I'd directed and written some plays, but most of the time I felt like I was wasting my ability. I knew that I could do some great things in the world but I wasn't sure why I wasn't pushing myself like I could.
It was then that I discovered personal development (my blog post on BCWI for the day) which allowed me to work toward my goals in a way I'd never thought possible. I've come a long way in those last few years and I'm certainly not all the way where I want to be, but I know that the journey to success is a long one and I'm willing to put in all the time and effort necessary.
Added a passage to the happiness book today and worked on some more prompts in the character prompts book. Saw a great advertisement for a dog running service. Walking dogs doesn't interest me nearly as much as running them does. Perhaps I should go try to get paid $25 to $30 per hour for exercising!

Day 23: Prosperity
One of the main chapter in my happiness book focused on prosperity. The idea of an abundant world in which there is enough money, food and health for everybody is really awesome and promoting that mindset is definitely a goal of this and future books.
I am going to write it down here because I truly believe it can happen. I want to sell 100,000 copies of The Post-College Guide to Happiness by the end of the year. This will require a lot of hard work on my part, but I think that by thinking prosperously and keeping myself open to marketing and sales ideas that may come to me, I can make it a reality.
Today, I plodded along in the character writing prompts book and answered a question about seamless transitions in writing on the writing website. There is a long way to go in this challenge, but after 23 days, I'm starting to feel like it's really becoming a way of life. Woo hoo!

Day 22: A New Chapter
Yesterday, I began the second book of the 365 day challenge, which will be titled 1,000 Character Writing Prompts. This will be like a logical sequel to my first and most successful prompts book and I hope that it finds the same success.
Not surprisingly, all this focus on my writing and trying to make it turn a profit has caused me to focus on improving my writing website. Today on the writing blog, I created a post on motivation techniques for getting your tedious blog tasks completed. Despite these chores taking a ton of time and being extremely boring, even working on them occasionally can increase profit and traffic. Personally, I have been inspired to push my ad revenue to new heights and combining added posts with proper linking, etc., I know it can become a reality.

Day 21: The Beat Goes On
Today I completed my first draft for the happiness book...and then immediately didn't feel like writing anything. Since I'm on a 365 day challenge however, I need to push through it with another 1,523 words left to write before the day is done :). The editing process for the book will be interesting, because I still plan on working on creating a new book while editing the first one. I hope that I can handle the workload and get this book out to market in a reasonable amount of time!
Today in the writing blog I wrote about the importance of location when writing and some various suggestions for being more productive than you can be in your distracting apartment. I also cleaned an oven today, but of course, that has little to do with writing or does it (it doesn't).

Day 20: Marketing
I can write and write until the cows come home (the literate cows of course), but unless I market myself properly, it won't amount to much good. I have been devising a plan for the happiness book that involves me giving away hundreds if not thousands of copies to generate reviews on my website. It's a bit complicated to explain how it all works, but if it goes to plan, the book could be a big hit.
Today on the writing blog, I wrote about one of my happiness heroes, Marci Shimoff, author of the book Happy for No Reason. Without her, I never would have thought to write a book about happiness. I hope that it can reach even a fraction of her book's success.
Here in the home life, the preparation for moving continues, which is stressful but worth it. We have boxes, tape, parking permits and we've tossed or donated over eight garbage bags full of old stuff. I think we're ready: bring on the trucks!
