If there's one thing I've learned from being in a long-term relationship, it's that if one person takes on a major project it is never going to be done alone. All the time you put into the work will affect your partner. After a tough day motivation wise, I found myself typing up my work after 11 p.m., which was tough on my girlfriend who wanted to hangout with me. She knows how important the challenge is to me, but I needed to realize that unless I'm efficient with my writing, it can interfere with the relationship. If you pay attention, you truly never stop learning. :)
I'm working on some prompts today and I wrote a blog post with five self improvement ideas. Lots of laundry and writing to do today, which is a great recipe for my productivity (I love the laundry room :)).
This blog is a daily reflection on my attempts to write 2,500 words a day for an entire year straight. There will be tips, there will be tricks, there may be a little bit of whining, but I'll try to keep it to a minimum :).

Day 17: Lonely But Loved
Today on the writing blog I wrote about freelance loneliness, a phenomenon that scares many prospective high earners from a free and comfortable life and back into the office. I wrote about this subject, in part, because I was feeling a bit lonely today myself.
Thankfully, I am very loved, by a wonderful, caring girlfriend, parents who keep close tabs on me and friends who want me to do my best. If it wasn't for these awesome people, I might have been scared back into an office long ago.
I also began filling in some of the sections I'd put off in the happiness book and that I am now forced to write if I actually want to finish it. Slowly but sure, this tortoise is finishing his book!

Day 6: Love and Relaxation
Today in the happiness book I took a break from the chapter on work and wrote about love. It's so amazing to think that only a few years ago, my girlfriend and I used to fight all the time. Nowadays, because of the happiness and togetherness exercises we've practiced, our fights take up less than 1 percent of our time together.
I'm so glad to be able to share that with everybody once the book comes out.
I also wrote about why writers and other creative people need to take a chill pill every once in a while to complete their most relaxed, effective work. Thanks for stopping by!
