I've decided to make a slight alteration in the writing challenge to help me out with some promotion on my book The Post-College Guide to Happiness. I want to do a 60-day blog tour throughout the blogosphere to promote the book, which I think can be a real juggernaut sales wise if I can get a certain number of reviews. The blog tour will help me to get reviews, since I'll be giving out free digital copies of the book for the whole challenge, leading up to May (graduation season)!
Previously, I had said that the writing challenge consisted of 2,000 words toward my books, 400 words toward a blog post on my website and 100 words toward this blog. Since I have over 50 pages that I have yet to post on Build Creative Writing Ideas, I will continue to post one blog per day there and I will use my 400 required words per day for blog posts to tackle the blog tour. This will allow me to create the 60 unique posts for the tour without having to tax myself with an added blog post every day. When the blog posts are posted online, I'll definitely link to them everyday on this blog. It should be fun and hopefully it will increase traffic here, to BCWI and to my Amazon sales pages!
While the most exciting thing by far and away is the Chuck series finale tonight (!!!), I did have an enjoyable time working further on the climax of Identity Interrupted and on a blog post entitled working from home on the best ways to ensure a successful day of productive work. Tonight I'll also be wishing one of my best friends well for a three-month trip to India! Should be a fun evening all around :)
This blog is a daily reflection on my attempts to write 2,500 words a day for an entire year straight. There will be tips, there will be tricks, there may be a little bit of whining, but I'll try to keep it to a minimum :).

Day 119: The Challenge
With Bryan having made it through 118 days of his writing challenge in 2011, can he continue the quest successfully in 2012? Will he be able to make it through the endless, frigid Chicago winter? Will he be able to keep it up when he trains for races in March and May? Will he be able to do this all while trying to lose some weight to improve his health? Can he continue to keep on good terms with his girlfriend, despite her occasional annoyance at him locking himself in the office for hours at a time? Will he do more than simply start books and actually publish them, putting them out into the marketplace? Can he successfully do this while ridding himself of debt, actually putting himself into a positive percentage of return for the first time in his life? Will he stop asking so many annoying questions?
Only time will tell.
Today in writing, I worked on living in the future and wrote a blog post about my resolutions for Build Creative Writing Ideas in 2012. Happy New Year everyone!

Day 70: 10 Weeks
It's official, I've been doing this challenge for 10 consecutive weeks. It's by far my longest writing streak of all time and here are some of the things I've accomplished in that time.
- Over 100 blog posts on Build Creative Writing Ideas
- Traffic increase from 422 visitors per day in Aug. 2011 to 706 per day in Oct. 2011
- Completed two books: The Post-College Guide to Happiness and 1,000 Character Writing Prompts, Part 1
- 70 blog posts on this blog, my first successful attempt to write a more personal blog
- Nearly doubling my AdSense income from August to October
- Writing 175,000+ words in total!
I'm very excited to see what else I can do in the next 42 weeks. I have several extremely awesome projects coming up including my novel, the second part of my 1,000 character prompts book and a journalistic look at a long-lost love story in North Carolina. All this and more coming your way :).
After working on Ted for a bit today, I wrote a blog post on quotes on happiness on the blog. Go Eagles!

Day 41: My Website
If there is one work I've created that I'm proud of, it's my website Build Creative Writing Ideas. I started the site in December 2008 in hopes of helping other struggling creative types like myself. I worked on it in fits and spurts throughout the last two and a half years and now there are over 500 pages of content. This month is my best yet (content and traffic wise) and I'm currently averaging over 700 unique visitors a day
It's certainly not perfect and it isn't the prettiest site int he world, but I'm very happy with all the work I've put into it, like the post I wrote today about how to write a journal. I also filled out the 100 categories for the book and I'm ready to speed through the 700+ remaining. Also, we're going to Ikea. Yay!

Day 2: Miles and Miles to Go
In addition to working on the happiness book today and writing a blog post about writing accountability, I will continue to work on my agility with an afternoon training session today.
For the last few weeks, I have been doing plyometric and speed drills to increase my agility. The drills are familiar to me from my soccer and wrestling days and despite having no real end goal in mind, I'm thoroughly enjoying the increased endurance I'm gaining during my weekly runs with my running partner Jack.
Also, with the holiday over, I'll be back to writing my freelance articles for Bio Prep Watch, Vaccine News Daily and Legal Newsline. Hoping to branch out into some additional websites some time soon. Happy Tuesday!

Day 1: Endurance and Happiness
Today is the beginning of a long journey. I am planning to write at least 2,500 words a day for an entire year straight. 2,000 words on my books to be self-published, 400 words on a Build Creative Writing Ideas blog post and 100 words here.
I'm hoping that keeping this blog up to date with short/sweet posts can help the people of the Internet to hold me accountable for the entire year. If successful, I will have written (at least) 730,000 words worth of books (10-20 full books in total), 146,000 words worth of content on my blog and 36,500 words here for good measure.
Today I worked on my book The Post-College Guide to Happiness and a blog post entitled Increasing Your Writing Endurance. Thanks for stopping by!
